Today I’m excited to be sharing the work of San Francisco based designer Catherine Kwong. To me, her design approach is perfectly elegant and tailored. She effortlessly mixes modern with vintage in a way that is refined, graceful and elegant. I can’t recall exactly how I stumbled upon her work but let me tell you, as soon as I saw her portfolio I was stopped dead in my tracks. I’m totally in love her refined approach to design. I especially love her use of fine art and dark moody hues that either contrast with or add drama to other elements in the rooms like lighting and fabric. See for yourself below.
Check out this modern kitchen. You may know by now that I’m a huge fan of fine art photography and this oversize work here is stunning and works beautifully as a statement piece on this wall with high coffered ceilings.
Check out the lovely star detail on this upholstered headboard. This is a great example of mixing elegant features like a mirrored side table and traditional headboard with more modern elements like the modern chrome bedside lamps.
This is Catherine’s San Francisco townhouse as featured in Rue Mag. You can see more of that article here.

Enjoy your Sunday. I cannot believe it’s already November!
